Upgrading the Hawk gas tank

Rode the 150 miles up to San Jose this morning and found out that my stock tank does about 105 miles at approximately fast speeds before having to switch to reserve.  Found this out when the engine died just south of Salinas…  Warren helped me with the disassembly of the bike, and its currently in pieces in his garage and back yard.  Once the tank goes on it should look something similar to this, and here’s to hoping that everything goes well!

Ordering some pod filters because we had to remove the stock airbox for the tank to fit on right, and Warren has done some welding on the tank mounts in order to get it seated correctly.  Once we get the pods in, we can figure out the rear bracket for mounting and then how the seat will fit to that.

Luckily for me, Warren knows what he’s doing AND has all the tools!  And once the tank is fitted, the Hawk is going to get a new paint job which will spiff it out.  Sweet!
