Why spend the money on a USB key?

Have you ever wondered why retailers charge $40 for a measly 8GB USB key? It’s all about being lame. Go get a micro usb card adapter for $7 and an 8GB microSD card for $10 and save yourself some money. Once you have the card reader, microSD cards are fairly inexpensive and you can quadruple …

Palm Springs and the ESRI Developer Summit

Been at the ESRI Developer Summit in Palm Springs since Sunday.  The drive out here was about 5, 5.5 hours but luckily Caleb drove the whole way.  I am NOT looking forward to this drive by myself tomorrow!  But I AM looking forward to seeing Jen and Kai… immensely. Anyways, we’re at the Hyatt Regency. …

Power Outage?!?! WTF?

Can you believe it!?!  Weaksauce!  No power… boo.  Thank goodness for laptops/netbooks and tethered modem access through the BlackBerry. By the way, the Dell Mini 10v is a pretty sweet netbook, if you’re looking for netbooks.  The EeePC’s have much better battery lifespan though. Hope the power comes back soon…

Kai’s Got a Brand New Bag

It’s funny how fast he’s growing.  I know, it’s only been a month but it seems like he’s changing so fast!  He can smile on purpose now, he’s a master kicker and of course, he’s got lungs on him that let the screaming go on for days.  He looks around a lot more nowadays and …

Jen’s water broke around 8:30PM on Thursday, April 16th and after a quick call …

Wildflowers @ Shell Creek Rd.

Jen and I took a trip out to Shell Creek Rd. a few weeks ago to see nothing really blooming yet.  I went out there today and was greeted with fields of yellow.  I was hoping for a bit more variety, but it could just be that i’m still a bit early.  At any rate, …

Leaning Pine Arboretum @ Cal Poly

Took a trip to the Leaning Pine Arboretum on Cal Poly’s campus.  Its out by the sheep.  It was really nice, even though I went mid-day some of the pics turned out not half bad.  This would be a great place to visit for anyone who enjoys flowers/plants and there were tons of birds there, …

SLO County Flickr Group Meetup

Never taken photos with a group of people before – it was a fun experience.  I will admit that I got easily distracted and talked more than shot, but it was a lot of fun.  Its amazing how completely different everyone was, and we all got along perfectly fine.

RIP – SLO Mission

I was heading out to lunch, passing through the Mission San Luis Obispo walkway and I saw this chunk of cement that someone had scrawled RIP on and propped up against the wall.  Thought about it the whole time I was eating lunch and decided to snap a pic of it on the way back …
